A Dominos employee just asserted themselves a tip on my card through the drive through without notice... Some of y'all got me fup. THIS IS A DRIVE THRU WINDOW, THIS EMPLOYEE IS STEALING. THIS IS NOT AN INNOCENT OF A SERVER NOT GETTING A TIP. THIS IS A THIEF

No photos are available here but I wanted to share my experience this evening. We ordered online for a carry out and later this evening we noticed the email confirmation total and the debit card total were offset by (you guessed it) 20 percent.

I immediately called the store and the individual who answered got very nervous very quickly offered a full refund. I said well hang on a minute... let's not refund anything just yet because if someone is committing a crime by stealing money, and you refund that money stolen, there's no crime committed.

I heard an "uh..." then the phone was put down. A few seconds later a different employee picked it up and asked "did you come in side or through the drive through? We offer the availability to tip the staff when you come in."

I said, "no I came through the drive through. The person asked if I would be paying cash or card and I said 'card'. I handed her my card, she handed it back a few moments later with my pizza and no other words were said. No card reader was put out the window for me to authorize anything, and no I did not get a credit card transaction receipt".

Again a refund was offered. I asked "does the tip go to an individual or a honey pot?" When she answered the individual, I replied "please do not cancel this transaction. I need the stolen money to be received by the employee."

We continued discussion with how they are unable to provide me with the General Managers contact information, nor the District or Regional. I asked, "how many buttons on a credit card reader does it take for a tip to be fully registered, is it just one or multiple?" The process of multiple keys needing to be hit for a tip to apply was explained.

I had thanked the person on the phone for their help and am waiting to hear back from the managers whom I cannot receive an email or office phone number for.

(ps my state is a 1 party recorded line state. I took a video of the ongoing conversation with a different phone during the conversation. Yes it's legal and yes it can be submitted to a court for evidence. If it happened to me it happened to many.) Thanks for reading.

Karl2241 13 hr. ago People don't seem to understand that this employee does it to one person- they are likely doing it to another. The chances of arrest is probably small, for what is likely $5. But if they do that to every customer, they are making bank. I used to do pizzia delivery (not long ago), I understand it's hard- but theft is unacceptable. 4.0k Reply Share ...

Ftballmstr 12 hr. ago . Btw, I work at a dominos. The employees absolutely have the GM's contact info, and there should have been a manager on shift when you were there. I would immediately call corporate and ask for the info of the GM or of the owner of the store. 1.6k Reply Share

ChiGal-312 12 hr. ago Happened to me at a high end restaurant even though I tipped generously in cash. She then went and added a tip on the tip line. 545 Reply Share

HiltHoodie 7 hr. ago I'd like to hear how this plays out. Mostly because I love stories about thieves getting screwed. Got no patience for those who take stuff that doesn't belong to them. 146 Reply Share

AO Rjkrider 7 hr. ago As a former manager from that place... They can absolutely find the transaction, and what employee cashed it out. The fact that you told them not to cancel the order will ensure all of that info stays in the system. It was 100% intentional on their end and you should pursue it as far as you are comfortable. 120 Reply Share

Legitimate-BurnerAcc OP. 6 hr. ago Well thank you. Some people are calling me a psychopath and other names for not just accepting a refund and moving on. They could be doing this to people all day for who knows how long. 91 Reply Share
